The routine I run on my own iRacing and OBS rig before every stream. It started after a background task flashed a console window in the middle of a live race. Three readable PowerShell scripts, plus an optional Claude Code skill that runs them for you.

- Clean: removes old temp files, crash dumps and caches (including those of closed browsers). It scans first and deletes only on request.
- Fresh boot: no startup apps and no logon tasks except backups. Kept tasks run hidden, so nothing can flash a console window on stream.
- Stream priority: sim on High, OBS on Above Normal, browsers and background tools below them. A hidden watcher re-pins them every race.
- One-command undo for every startup change, plus logs of everything deleted.
- An optional Claude Code skill: say "pitstop" and it previews, then runs the routine.

- Your PC boots with a tray full of apps you never asked for
- You want something you can read line by line, not another subscription cleaner
Who it is not for
- Mac or Linux users. PitStop is Windows 10/11 only.
- Anyone after an FPS miracle. It removes background load and interruptions; it does not overclock anything.

FAQ
Does it need admin rights?
No. A few machine-wide startup entries need admin to change; PitStop lists them and you turn them off in Task Manager.
Can I undo it?
Yes. Every startup change is logged and pitstop-startup.ps1 -Undo puts it all back. Priorities reset with -Restore.
Will it raise my frame rate?
No promises. It removes background load and stream interruptions; your FPS depends on your hardware and sim settings.
